For tests aiming only to evaluate the reliability of basic functions, a test sample composed of just the targeted function should be evaluated, rather than evaluating the product itself. Limiting functions enables characteristic changes to be investigated with high-precision measurement, and enables detailed investigation of the effects of design parameters. Continuous measurement during environmental testing has therefore become common as a reliability test method. It is often used for purposes of R&D or design evaluations. Some typical examples presented in standards are given here for the purpose of mounting reliability.
